Ethiopia-Dozens Dead In Inter-Ethnic Clashes

According to local officials, 29 people of the Oromo ethnic group were killed by Somali attackers. These clashes occurred in different districts of the Oromia region: Hawi, Gudina and Daro Lebu.

The Oromos immediately fought back, killing 32 Somalis in another district. Somalis who had themselves fled abuses in the past and had taken refuge in this region of Oromia.

The causes of this violence have not been specified by the local authorities. On the other hand, they are the result of protests in another town in the province, in Celenko, where soldiers killed 16 Oromos, shooting at the protesters. For his part, the president of the region says that
