Upper Room Ministries members believe evil spirits attacked Bishop Berry Dambaza who committed suicide by throwing himself from the third floor along Julius Nyerere Way on Monday.
One of the church members who preferred anonymity narrated how they spent the better part of last week interceding for the deceased’s daughter Oreen Dambaza based in United Kingdom over evil spirits that nearly claimed her life while driving.
“Considering the spiritual journey he took us through to his departure, it is unbelievable that he would leave us in such a way.
“To me, I want to believe that our pastor was attacked by evil spirits and the whole family is at war.
“One of his daughters Oreen, based in UK has been under attack that she nearly lost her life while driving.
“Mai Dambaza allowed us to hear her conversations with Oreen narrating what she was experiencing every time she was behind the wheel on her way back from work.
“Aibatwa nemamhepo otanga kurotomoka achiona ma coffins akawanda iye achizvionawo arimu coffin.
“She narrated how at one time she caused traffic jam when the evil spirits attacked her while driving,” said the member.
Oreen tied the knot in United Kingdom a fortnight ago and was expected to arrive in the country for another celebration since the parents failed to grace the wedding.
“Oreen’s marriage was being attacked and we prayed as a congregation against the evil spirits and overcame, leading the wedding to a success.
“I want to believe that it is that evil spirit that has been haunting Oreen which attacked our Pastor to death.
“Pastor Dambaza’s death has weakened our faith and only God knows what exactly transpired on the day in question.
“We heard that a CCTV was played to see if he was not pushed to death by anyone but the death remains a mystery to us,” narrated the member in tears.
On allegations that Dambaza’s wife Sithembeni Dambaza was caught pants down with one of the church treasurer, the member dismissed it saying the treasurer is a lady.
“We do not have private offices at our church premises and our treasurer is female,” said the member. - HMetro
